As was completely expected, the stealth class - although far better animated this time round - still isn't a viable way to play. In fact, I'd argue stealth is genuinely discouraged thanks to both the lack of a decent system telling you how aware enemies are (Hidden, Danger, Detected), and thanks to the biggest amount of time being given to the gunplay in general. It emerged recently that Doom developers iD Software helped Bethesda in modelling their fantastic new combat system, but that's seemingly at the expense at fleshing out the other classes. It simply doesn't feel very responsive or the 'right way to play' attempting to evade your foes and deliver the one-punch melee kills you can pull off, and rather like Skyrim, 99% of quests/missions will start with the best intentions, before you're locked into another brawl within seconds. Don't get me wrong, the feel of firing weapons in the new engine is spectacular - there's a real kick to everything that really makes you look forward to testing things out in the field - but all the same, either bring the other aspects of the game up to speed, or streamline the experience altogether to allow for a better game overall.
