9 Modern Gaming Criticisms That Actually Suck

1. 'It's TOO Short'

The value of any given video game is still all too often associated with its length. Like most criticisms on this list, at one point there was a real worry that games were giving players less bang for their buck, but this sentiment has remained even as new releases come more bloated than ever.

That's because, in response to the initial criticism, pretty much every major modern blockbuster release takes tens, if not hundreds, of hours to finish. Devs like Ubisoft have pioneered open-world formulas, whereby maps are littered with missions to complete and activities to take part in, to the point where 90% of players won't see everything.

It's because of that that shorter games have even more relevance in the gaming world though. A tight, five-hour (or even less) experience can be more rewarding than slogging through 50 hours of the same copied-and-pasted content, and worth your $60 dollars even if you only play it for a weekend.

As the old saying goes, size isn't everything.
