For all his acrobatic chain-flinging mastery, Kratos is an absolute dick in the God of War series - in particular, part three. At this stage in the narrative we're lead to believe that he's so completely consumed by revenge, that it blinds him to everything other than enacting it and taking down Zeus - an idea that's pushed to the borderline when you find Aphrodite and husband, Hephaestus.

First you'll meet up with Aphrodite in all her topless glory (and it is glorious), before sleeping with her in an instant - as she's all sex-mad and whatnot. But it's after this that you have dealings with husband Hephaestus, who's only in chains and reconciled to a life of torture thanks to Kratos' actions in the second game. Hephaestus explains he just wants to see his wife and daughter again, to which Kratos callously casts off any empathy, despite he himself losing a daughter - only for a boss fight to ensue as the craftsman clearly doesn't trust the God of War, and he ends up getting killed because of it, crying as his final breaths leave him.

Yes, it's super dark and yes, it makes Kratos one of the biggest monsters in gaming history - a trait seemingly lost on the scriptwriters, who champion his actions by giving you the 'Ladies Man' trophy for 'entertaining' (as they call it) Aphrodite.
