9 Most Inventive Video Game Levels You Need To Play

6. Giant Alice - Alice: Madness Returns

Giant Alice is an incarnation of Alice Liddell that you’ll embody near the very end of Chapter 4: Queensland in Alice: Madness Returns. She is, as you’d expect, an enormous version of her former self achieved after munching down on some conveniently placed ‘Eat me’ cake. After spending the entirety of Chapter 4 facing off against leagues of knife-wielding card guards and the unstoppable mangled Executioner who, up until this point, has been properly invincible, it’s enormously satisfying to get real big.

At this point the Executioner drops his scythe and Alice squashes him like the pesky little bug he is.

You then spend the rest of the level stomping the crap out of swarms of card guards and pounding the ground. Even the turrets that rock up later can’t do much to stop you. This is a game that is as creative as it is legitimately challenging so after many hours of being on the back foot it’s a joy to take out your frustration by stomping 20 little cards to death under your boot.

You’ll go back to being tiny after this point so enjoy the break while you’ve got it.
