9 Most Inventive Video Game Levels You Need To Play

1. The Clockwork Mansion - Dishonored 2

The Clockwork Mansion is a fantastic example of Dishonored’s often uniquely inspired level design, especially if you’re engaging in all the mechanics that the game has to offer. Dishonored 2’s fourth mission calls on you to take on the Grand Inventor Kirin Jindosh at his Clockwork Mansion. You’ve got a man to kill and a man to save and plenty of clockwork soldiers to take out or evade. The mansion transforms around you as you move through it and you can use this to your advantage.

This is Dishonored, of course, so you can go in offensively or whisper quiet and stealthy, and there’s plenty in this mansion playground to cater to any play style you prefer.

The enemy design is gorgeous, the level layout and environments are detailed and engaging, and navigating all of the above while gradually progressing through your various objectives makes for an enormously memorable level. So much of what Dishonored has to offer is already a step above what you’d expect from run of the mill game levels, so as is the case with all the games on this list, its standout level is just the cherry on top.
