8. Klink, Klang, And Klinklang Are Knock-offs Of Magnemite And Magneton
Here we have a magnet Pokémon whose evolved form consists of three magnets as if three Magnemite have joined together. Introduced in generation five was a gear-like Pokémon whose fully evolved form resembles a a combination of the two previous ones. Sound a bit similar? Yeah, a bit too similar. As if Klink wasn't unoriginal enough the creators of Pokémon introduced an even more unoriginal evolution. While Magnemite and Magneton debuted prior to the introduction of the Steel-type, they were still the first to be a floating metal Pokémon. To make it even worse, generation four introduced Bronzor - a dual Steel/Psychic type that is almost entirely identical to one of the two gears in Klink. Magneton was given another evolution in that same generation. That Pokémon is Magnezone which also resembles Klink's final form, Klinklang. It's pretty evident that the designers are running out of ideas when a Pokémon like Magnemite is being copied. Are there not enough plants and animals in the world as inspiration?
