Ever new character that gets added to the fray feels like an delicate balancing act being slightly swayed one way or another - until you get hands-on and breathe a sigh of relief, safe in the knowledge thatsomehow, Capcom have added tons of varied characters and abilities, without anybody truly feeling overpowered.

Yes, SF IV's Seth etched himself into the history books under the 'most annoying boss' category, but once you got a handle on dashing and countering, you could go toe to toe in an incredibly satisfying way. Street Fighter has garnered a reputation for being the cream of the fighting crop sheerly because of how much time and effort goes into adding each and ever new character, and that goes double for the guys who've been here from the start.

Creating a great fighting game means all sorts of stat-swaps and number-exchanges have to go on under the hood for it all to come together fairly, and thankfully, Street Fighter appears to pullthis off without a hitch.
