9 Reasons Why Automatron Will Make You Love Fallout 4 All Over Again

5. Robot Building Finally Makes Crafting Fun

Fallout 4 DLC

Let's face it, the crafting system was by far the worst part of Fallout 4. While the idea of creating your own settlements was genius, the eventual feature barely functioned, with a wonky Minecraft-esque system that was nowhere near as integral or as meaningful as anyone expected.

Likewise, while the weapon and armour crafting was also a decent idea, it meant that most of the best gear could be created early on, meaning that the unique loot found in the wasteland itself was often useless.

With the Automatron DLC though, Bethesda has finally given players a real reason to use its much maligned crafting system. By collecting robot mods you're able to pimp out your own personal terminator to be your companion, constantly tweaking and upgrading them as you collect new items and gather more resources.

Although it looked like a bit of a gimmick in the pre-release hype, the robot crafting is actually one of the best parts of the DLC, and it adds an endless amount of content and variety to the game going forward.
