3. Bayonetta - Father Rodin

To even get the chance to face off against Father Rodin, the original Bayonetta tasks you with gathering 10 million halos in a single save file, all so you can restore this usually friendly character to his former, godlike glory.

That's bad for you though, as once you've splashed the cash and purchased the platinum ticket that allows for his transformation, he'll proceed to use his new, halo-powered form to lock you into combos that leave you powerless to do anything but watch as half of your health bar is obliterated in an instant.

Even worse, he's one of those two-stage terrors, and once you get him past 50% health, Rodin can unleash a new attack that wipes out all but 1% of your vitality. Virtually impossible to stun or stagger, the boss shrugs off pretty much all of your attacks as you jump in and out for hit-and-run tactics that barely scratch his ridiculous life bar.

There are no cheesy quick fixes to take him out, and only the very best Bayonetta players will ever feel satisfied after going through so many hoops to unlock the nigh-on impossible fight in the first place.
