It's difficult to imagine a more apropos entry than this. In the Knights of the Old Republic games, you are granted the opportunity to wield the incredible power of the Jedi. Whether you use those powers for the light side or the dark side, it was a unique idea at the time of the original KOTOR's release. Fans of the Star Wars universe could finally feel what it was like to know the power of the dark side. It was fresh, exciting and one of the most compelling pieces of Star Wars fiction to come out in years. Towards the end of the game, after the stunning revelation that you are actually a Sith Lord known as Darth Revan, you are given a dramatic choice by the recently turned Bastila Shan. She gives you one final chance to turn to the dark side, cementing your path through the game from here on out. It was an iconic moment, becoming one of the more famous scenes from the series. If you choose to join Bastila, and reclaim your grand Sith empire from the hands of Darth Malak, you were then expected to kill your Jedi team mates Jolee Bindo and Juhani. This was one of the most shocking moments in the whole game, and created an interesting dynamic. You weren't being betrayed, rather you were the one committing such a thing. It was almost subversive, creating a sense of finite reality to the game. If you did this and chose to become the ultimate Sith Lord you had to slaughter your friends. It was justifiably shocking, and you only had yourself to blame.
