Not only is Factions, the online portion of The Last of Us, one of the most underrated multiplayer modes of all time, it's one of the best multiplayer modes of all time period.

Taking the intense stealth-based gameplay of the core campaign and transferring the same sensibilities to this high-stakes online mode, Naughty Dog was able to create one of the most unique multiplayer suites in years.

With a limited number of lives and even fewer bullets, teamwork and ingenuity are key to surviving every match. It's not just about your skills with a gun, but how well you can bait an enemy, know what they're going to do next and decide when's best to use that last molotov cocktail you have in your inventory.

Plus there's an excellent meta game thrown on top of this solid foundation. Your success in every match directly effects the survivors living in your camp between games (populated by your Facebook friends if you choose to link your social media accounts), and a poor round could mean the difference between your followers surviving another day or being obliterated entirely.
