Dark Souls, like its spiritual predecessor Demon's Souls, was originally a console exclusive. In fact, it only made its way over to the PC after a spirited campaign and petition to get a PC version made. Both Dark Souls: Prepare To Die and Dark Souls 2 have been heavily criticised for their poor mouse and keyboard controls, with the general attitude being that they are unplayable without a controller. FromSoftware can be excused somewhat for this for their first two games - as a developer, they were incredibly inexperienced with PC, but were focused on getting that version out for fans to play, as fast as possible. Dark Souls 3 will be the third Dark Souls available on PC, and whilst poor controls have been excusable so far, the series really needs to up its game, controller-wise. Having unplayable keyboard and mouse controls means that anybody without a controller simply can't play.
