9 Things The Sims 4 Has Ruined

No colour wheel? No ball. One of the biggest issues plaguing the endlessly creative Sims community is a lack of quality swatches for furniture and clothing. Often time one item's 'black' would be entirely different from another's, meaning a nightmare for those who want to match their trousers to their shoes. The Sims 3 solved this very easily with a colour wheel and sliders for basically everything.

The Sims 4's grab and drag technique was a stunning re-design of the age old slider system employed by character creators throughout the 1990s and 2000s. Whilst this new grab and drag system allowed for the creation of horrific creatures and incredible beauties, it also left odd uncanny-valley levels of cartoonish proportions. The skin tones have also only just been addressed after seven years of ashy and inconsistent skin for people of colour, with the Sims team having only just announced updates to fix these issues.

Too little, too late.

Megan Robb has a lot of opinions on a lot of stuff, but feels deeply uncomfortable referring to herself in the third person.
