Speaking of storylines, let's dig into what we know and extrapolate from there.

Many fans have noted that as Redemption concludes in 1910, it's the last major decade before the gangster-filled 1920s start coming in, indicating the biggest cultural shift in American history, as the 'wild west' died off altogether.

However, the map we see shows a version of the Great Plains (and the city of Blackwater within) that's in the past. Techradar noted that the location of New Bordeaux is actually the real setting where Mafia 3 will be taking place, which just happens to be published by Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company.

I'm not saying the games or their characters are literally going to appear in one another, but it's very interesting that New Bordeaux is set to appear in both, maybe hinting that the two developers have shared assets in creating such huge game worlds.

It's a long shot, but this could mean we're going to play as someone who experiences this cultural shift first-hand, starting before Redemption's storyline and carrying through to a more modern, 1920s setting.

Going from an outlaw and dealing with all the trials and tribulations, law changes and social shifts that came with this transitional time would be unbelievably interesting, and would allow Rockstar to tell one of the greatest video game stories of all time - just like they did with the original Red Dead Redemption.
