9 Times Critics Ignored INCREDIBLE Video Games

6. Remember Me

Remember Me is the story of Nilin a memory hunter who, honestly is kind of a terrible person - she literally rewrites history by reformatting people's memories. The most egregious case of which is when she rewrites her own mother's memories to shift all the blame for a car accident on the woman so that she'd defect political factions. Though one could argue the time she messed with a security commander's memories and pushed him to suicide is also pretty bad.

At the time of its release it received middling reviews. It certainly has its share of imperfections, particularly within the combat and character progression systems, but overall the game is a fun ride through a cyberpunk dystopia. Nilin is an engaging character and an example of a solid female protagonist, especially coming from 2010 when such a thing was exceedingly rare.

Critics never gave it the praise it deserved and it caused the game to sell less than expected, though to be fair it still sold over two million copies - but Capcom wanted more from it and as a result passed on producing a sequel.
