9 Times The Wii Remote Speaker Actually Improved Gameplay

3. Rayman's Raving Rabbids: Bunnies Are Heartless With Pigs

This odd minigame saw Rayman carrying a pig back to its mother through a junkyard maze strewn with broken ovens, fridges, kitchen sinks, stacks of tyres...even bedside units with still-working lamps atop! The area also featured a rather grimy pizza truck called 'PIZZAPOPO' that you'd be wise never to buy lunch from.

Failure in this minigame meant you'd have a rabbid pop up from the ground with all the ferocity of a landmine and barbecue your pig with a handheld flamethrower, turning it into chargrilled pork in front of your very eyes. Rayman would also be covered in soot like a Looney Tunes cartoon of yesteryear.

The Wii Remote was used to convey the pig's shrieks as it could somehow sense when a rabbid was near: that was the player's clue to avoid that passageway of the maze. But there was also a fiendish time limit hanging over your head which meant you couldn't stay still for too long: a mere 25 seconds to be exact. So you had to hurry, but you also had to tread carefully.

Having a pig shriek from your controller was plain unsettling. And it wasn't even a horror title!
