9 Upcoming Video Games Destined To Be The Sleeper Hits Of 2016

2016 sleeper hits

The worst move the original Dishonored ever made was releasing in the fall. A brand new IP at a time where the Xbox 360 generation was winding down and studios were focusing mostly on sequels, the unique stealth-sandbox game was unfortunately overlooked when it released in 2013.

However, although the title has gained a cult following ever since, that first game was far from perfect. The wonky morality system in particular meant that indulging in the title's whackiest player-driven moments of violence was often punished in favour of your more standard 'sneak-up-on-that-guy-and-hide-him-in-a-closet' mechanic that just about every other stealth game has. Unfortunately this often meant that some of Dishonored's greatest assets were wasted on repetitive gameplay loops, a fault we're hoping this upcoming sequel will rectify.

With a smarter release window and a bit of creative thinking to get over the problems of the original, Arkane Studio's latest game could be one of the most talked about releases of the year. Lets just hope it follows the trajectory of Assassin's Creed to Assassin's Creed 2, rather than, say, Thief 3 to Thief 4.
