9 Upcoming Wii U Games That Will Redeem It In 2016

5. Kerbal Space Program

The fantasy of sending your very own spaceship into the cosmos (ideally with yourself aboard) is one of the classics, but the reality of doing so would inevitably prove to be tricky. You'd think that a game with Kerbal Space Program's cutesy presentation would offer more of a fantasy take on building a spaceship, rather than complicated things like orbits, gravitational pull, balance, and the exact amount of jet fuel required, but you're in for an eye-opening awakening as soon as your first hopeless craft explodes on launch. Sending your bespoke spacecraft into orbit may technically be the first part of your 'journey' in KSP, but it'll be hours and hours before you reach that stage, as you continue to make little mistakes that cause your craft to fail in numerous ways, or teeter on the edge of the stratosphere before gravity takes over and sends it crashing back to its home planet. It's frustrating to be sure, but in that compelling Dark Souls or Rocket League kind of way. It's about try-trying again, and embracing every little bit of progress you make as you get closer to the cosmos. Also, the game's engine is so precise that you know you only have yourself to blame when your space mission fails, and it's entirely in your hands to make it succeed. When you finally to make it to space, it's one of the most rewarding experiences in gaming, and you can then face whole new challenges of trying to land on other planets. The Wii U may late to the party in getting KSP, but when you're talking about one of the outright best games of recent years, one can hardly complain...
