9 Video Game Sequels So Bad They Killed The Series
7. Streets Of Rage 3
Anyone who experienced the original Streets Of Rage on the Mega Drive will have fond memories of jump-kicking punks in the face, consuming whole chickens after smashing open a phone booth or yelling in frustration when they accidentally hit the A button and trigger the special rocket attack. Good times. Streets Of Rage 2 build on that foundation to deliver another solid beat em up experience.
Streets Of Rage 3, on the other hand, was a major letdown, and while it tried to experiment with the gameplay - introducing new features and a more in-depth story - it's ultimately pretty hollow when put alongside the other games. Even the soundtrack was weak in comparison, and overall it was a disappointing end to the series.
Streets Of Rage 4 actually was in development, but after Sega fell out with the developer it became Fighting Force instead, meaning there hasn't been a new Streets Of Rage title since 1994.
