9 Video Games That Are Absolutely Perfect Stress-Relievers
3. Resogun
Released alongside Sony's Playstation 4 in 2013, Resogun - similar to Geometry Wars - takes notes from classic arcade games and injects them with extra 'voxels' (a combination of volume and pixels in 3D space apparently). Whilst it may not be as visually epileptic as Geometry Wars, its visuals have a charm that compliment the overall experience. Tasking players to "Save the last humans", Resogun is a relatively simple side-scrolling shoot 'em up. On paper it doesn't sound altogether different from many similar arcade games, but developers Housemarque crafted something unique. At times Resogun can become a visual chaotic mess, and that's meant as a compliment; there is always something exploding or flashing on screen, and whilst it may not be much more than visual fireworks it makes for an engaging experience. Sometimes the most stress relieving games are those we can pick up and play for five minutes at a time with us not having to engage our brain. Resogun is certainly challenging but provides enough fun and variety, along with an excellent techno soundtrack and pretty visuals meaning you can totally check out whilst playing it.
