9 Video Games That Punish You For 100%

8. You Can Stop Now - Blast Corps

That last entry was pretty involved whereas this one is short and sweet. If you think a game telling you to stop playing is a badge of honour then you won’t be offended by this one but for the rest of us it was hard to not take getting 100% in Blast Corps as a dig.

Rare’s classic action game for the N64 was a hit when it arrived on the console in 1997 and has retained a fond spot in the memory of many gamers. Potentially not the gamers who managed to get every platinum, though, as this was not an easy game at all. Rare have said the game was designed to be almost impossible to platinum across the board but of course where there is a way there are gamers who are capable of it. I hope getting all 57 platinum medals in the game was worth it for the love of the game because you don’t get anything special for accomplishing this herculean feat.

In fact, all you get is a new rank called ‘You Can Stop Now’.

If you had a great time and you were aiming for this one it might not feel like a punishment but for those who had to grind for it only to realise the game is basically saying “Hey, go do literally anything else,” you might have been a little insulted.
