Collect all 120 Shine Sprites scattered across the game world and to congratulate you for proving mastery of the games systems and completing all that it has to offer you are granted an alternate ending. Now, this probably wasn’t intended to troll you but the ending is so infamous that clearly enough players felt miffed that Nintendo thought this was an acceptable trade for the incredible amount of time these dedicated completionists put into the game.

Instead of the standard ending you’ll get a group photo of Mario and the gang alongside the next “Have a relaxing vacation!”
