9 Disastrous Video Games That Totally Killed Their Consoles

1. Xbox 360 - The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct (2013)

Microsoft were also into taking inherently cool franchises and using them to disguise pieces of shit as a computer games back in 2013, with the only saving grace here the fact that you could play with show's coolest character Daryl Dixon as he fights his way out of Georgia during the early stages of the zombie apocalypse as we know it. Brother Merle is also a welcome addition to the cast, and having the actors from the AMC show voice their characters in-game gives Survival Instinct some kudos, though you simply cannot get through this awful game on cool points. The graphics when the capabilities of the console are considered, and, despite the blood and gore you'd expect from a zombie first-person shooter, the settings are maddeningly bland. Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman actually moved to distance himself from the game. During a Reddit AMA session, he said: "I'm pretty sure there's an AMC logo before that game and not a picture of my face.If there was a picture of my face in front of the logo, then I'd be completely responsible for that." The panning this game deservedly got takes you back to Atari's ET disaster, when they took a hot property and rushed a game out, hoping that people would simply buy it off the strength of the title and not notice how truly awful it really was. What could have been an awesome tie-in ended up as little more than a frustrating chore to play. Are there any we missed? Let us know in the comments what disastrous games you played late in their respective console cycles!

Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
