9 Video Games With The BEST Glitches!
4. Audio Nightmare! - King's Quest V: Absence Makes The Heart Go Yonder
Sometimes the best bugs are the most simple ones, and you don't get much more simple than by having audio cues slightly out of line with their intended trigger points. King's Quest V: Absence Makes The Heart Go Yonder is another in the classic Quest series from developer Sierra Entertainment and is packed to the brim with charm, comedy and of course out of nowhere deaths that will make you spit take all over your monitor.
However, in amidst all of this joy is a simple bug that affected the game for anyone trying to play the title on modern PCs with a DOS emulator using the physical copy of the game. The audio files, for some reason, are read off the disc in the incorrect order, moving everything slightly out of position and thus making every single line of dialogue now completely at odds with the text you're reading.
Sounds infuriating right? Well to be honest it mostly is, HOWEVER, it does mean that some of the new pairings are infinitely better and downright hilarious, such as clicking on a rolling river only to be told "quit" and all manner of swords and metal clanging now sounding like robot beeps, and even wet slaps.
It's not the ideal way to play the game, but it's still ridiculously funny.
