3. Memphis, Tennessee
We travel far down the Mississippi from entry #4 to reach another major port and air hub at the crossroads between the Deep South, North and the West. Some might consider it the middle of the country and for that alone its an interesting choice to consider for the franchis. Setting a game here would be a treat for genre music fans, with the likes of Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, Johnny Cash, B.B. King, Isaac Hayes and Al Green all having connections with the city, and it would certainly make for a spectacular radio selection that might even rival the heights of 2002s
Vice City. Much like Houston, the citys ethnic makeup would once again mandate a person of colour, this time from the majority African-American community, to fill the role of lead for the sake of both realism and a refreshingly non-white perspective. Memphis is considered the southern headquarters for the US underworld, of which there are 182 organisations in the city alone. In 2005 and 2006, the crime rate saw the city being ranked as one of the countrys most dangerous. There are still thousands of violent incidents every year, making the city a grimly suitable candidate for the franchise.
