Alan Wake 10 Years Later: 10 Moments Worth Revisiting Bright Falls For

9. Arriving In Bright Falls

Alan Wake Standout
Remedy

From the likes of Max Payne to Quantum Break and Control, Remedy are a studio that knows how to make some seriously impressive looking games, and Alan Wake was no exception.

Despite its age, Alan Wake’s visual fidelity holds up remarkably well against today’s standards. Consequently, the woods of Bright Falls are just as atmospheric and breath-taking to witness in their visual splendour as ever, and players can get their first proper look at this for themselves during a sweeping cinematic sequence when the Wakes arrive in the Twin Peaks-esque town on the ferry.

Complete with an equally stunning score from Petri Alanko, our introduction to the small town is an unforgettable moment as the camera sweeps under a bridge boasting a “Welcome to Bright Falls” sign before panning up to show the town and the surrounding woods where you’ll soon be spending a lot of time.

Not only does this short sequence showcase Remedy’s high production values, it also perfectly captures Sam Lake and his studio’s artistic vision that has pushed the cinematic capabilities of each of their titles to breath-taking effect.

Alan Wake is undoubtedly a beautiful game, and this section is just one example.
