All 15 Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Video Games Ranked
9. Mario & Sonic At The Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Wii U)
Finally, the first real mainline Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games entry on the list. Whilst no entry in the series can be called amazing, the franchise clearly has its lows. After the good Mario & Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games, the series just started to remove content and become worse and worse with every entry for a while.
Now, I don't blame the developers for putting in less content. They could make a 10/10 release and people would still look at it as nothing more than a dumb Mario & Sonic Olympic game, so why not give us the bare minimum? Nobody expects anything from this franchise anyway and will judge the games before they even come out.
So what makes it so lacklustre?
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games has fewer sports than its already lacklustre predecessor Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, only having 14 main events. The game doesn't even have any Dream Events which are the best thing about the entire series.
Instead, there are three Duel Events which are just normal events with items from both series' include to give them some extra flair. They're alright but they're no Dream Events.
