Anthem: 10 Major Fixes It Desperately Needs

8. More Diverse Enemies

Anthem Game
Bioware

One of Anthem's biggest disappointments is the shocking lack of enemy variety.

It becomes clear after a few hours of play that you're basically just going to battle a small batch of generic, similar-looking alien creatures with little personality or uniqueness to them whatsoever.

Where are the enemies with distinctly grotesque appearances? Where are the cloaked high-level enemies and those who challenge players to their wits' end with their insane flight capabilities?

More than anything, where the hell are the epic bosses? The Ash Titan looks neat the first time you engage it, but the sheen quickly wears off, and the game's final boss is the only thing approaching a truly statuesque hostile in the entire critical path (and even that ends up a bust).

Adding some new enemies really shouldn't be that difficult: BioWare will need some time to conceptualise and implement them, yes, but if the game doesn't boast a more compelling bestiary of creatures a few months from now, it'd be even more embarrassing than the piecemeal launch offering.
