Assassin's Creed 2017: 10 Time Periods We Want To See

1. Feudal Japan

This is undoubtedly the most popular fan choice and request for an Assassin’s Creed game and it’s not very hard to see why. The whole Japanese setting - especially in the feudal times - is the perfect example of history writing itself for an Assassin’s Creed game.

Forgive my crude understanding of the intimate power-plays and societal influences of feudal Japan, but you have different Japanese Lords vying for more land and power across the land, while the government itself is falling to pieces. There's the Emperor, a puppet for the Shogun (the most powerful and notable nobles in Japan, a group of individuals influencing the most powerful man in land from the shadows, which sounds very Templar to me), and different civil wars breaking out between warring lords, all under the framing of now-ancient Samurai battles. It's just awesome.

Not to mention the history and beauty of Japan is a scene that would be perfect to be running across, leaping from building to building. The equipment and gear employed by ninjas (who would have to be playable) could add a unique and fresh style to the combat and stealth, alongside you face them one-on-one.

Let's be fair, in the end Ubisoft would essentially be making a ninja vs samurai game, which is a recipe for heaven on Earth.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
