Assassin's Creed Origins: 10 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
2. How To Fight Multiple People At Once
It can be extremely jarring getting used to Assassin's Creed's new combat system - which is to say, there's quite the learning curve to applying a Dark Souls/Bloodborne mentality to a more overt action game.
Basically there are two things you want to take note of:
1. Always hold L1/LB to ensure your shield is up or you won't defend against anything, and attacks can do a TON of damage (you can make this a "Toggle" instead of a "Hold" in the controller options).
2. Feather the lock-on with R3 and use it to back away from any horde of enemies. It's very easy to get surrounded, and by keeping a shield between you and any batch of foes (archers in particular), you'll absorb all ranged attacks automatically.
From here, keep on your toes with the dodge button (you can do up to three dashes before a notable stop) and don't be afraid to flee. Break line of sight and you'll see Bayek flash - use this split-second to dive into some nearby shrubbery or around another corner, allowing you to get more stealth kills or wait until the group disperses.
