1. Must Play: Brotherhood
A stunning realisation of Rome that can be traversed so effortlessly was always going to be a winner.
The locale feels alive, dense and rich with colour and vibrancy. The characters you encounter all appear to have a meaning or a purpose to the developing story at large.
On a similarly positive note, utilising the faster-paced parkour the game offered means you can spend countless hours simply exploring the city.
Assassin's Creed 2 was not going to be easy to follow, but Brotherhood does a respectable job in doing so. Adding the recruitment tool was a welcome introduction, adding a new dynamic to the series in that players could have help from their peers or could simply earn more cash.
Brotherhood is a must play because it's innovations became staples in later titles and it can not be denied that it's a fast-paced, well-rounded festival of Assassins Creed goodness.
Once you consider that the game has a wildly underrated multiplayer mode, the potential for replays is through the roof.
Easily one of the most "pick up and play" titles in the series, it's a linchpin in the franchise that much of the success of AC can be attributed to.
