5. Free-Running/Tree-Running
Climbing trees doesn't sound like such a big deal, but for fans of the Assassin's Creed series, it opens up infinite possibilities. Finally, after four games of strictly building-based parkour, we get to use our free-running skills on trees and cliffs. Connor will use the trees to navigate through the huge frontier and stalk his prey in style. The trees will not only be instrumental for the navigation aspect of the game, but also the newly added hunting feature (which will be talked about in a little while). Instead of following deer through thick snow and making so much sound that every bear in the wilderness comes to us, we can take to the trees. Although Connor has the most gear and weapons on any Assassin we've played as, he seems to be as quiet as ever and extremely stealthy. The free-running in the cities has been changed and revamped. First off, gamers will have a different set of controls for climbing. It's said these controls are "more natural" and immerse us into the parkour experience. Besides the controls changing, the gameplay itself is different. We can now jump into open windows and jump out the other side of that building. Instead of a good old-fashion leap o' faith into a simple pile of hay, we can now jump into the back of moving wagon.
