Assassin's Creed 3: 8 Reasons To Be Excited

7. Save The World, Get The Girl

With the world set to end in 2012 Desmond and the team are on a mission to find some mystical artifact to stop the blah blah blah... All right, so the underlying story in Assassin's Creed isn't fantastic, I'm not a huge fan of the back to the future scenes with Desmond, Kristen Bell and that guy who sounds a bit like Stephen Merchant but isn't Stephen Merchant (Unfortunately). Like it or not they're integral to the experience and apparently they're not going away any time soon. We've been told that we're €œgoing to experience more Desmond than you've ever had before€ so that means a lot more prancing about with the fledgling assassin than we're used to. Maybe that means we'll finally be able to put his new found abilities to the test properly, parkouring around a modern setting taking the fight to the bad guys instead of lying around all day watching ancient home movies from inside the Animus. Die hard Desmond fans might be sad to know that AC3 apparently signals the end of Desmond's story, something I'm very much looking forward to. If you've not played through the previous games you can check out a full plot synopsis here. (Obvious spoilers are obvious).
