Assassin's Creed 4: 10 Things We Want To See

2. An Actual Dual Wield System

When I was reading up on AC III on the road to its release, one thing I kept hearing about was a new and improved dual wield system which supposedly allowed you to combine weapons at will. Call it misunderstanding if you will, but what I actually thought was on offer was a system which allowed me to combine any two weapons; club and sword; hidden blade and tomohawk and so on. What was actually on offer was something very similar to what had come before it; you have a slot for melee weapons and a slot for ranged and never the twain shall mix. For AC IV, I'd really love to have a full dual-wield system which allows for the combination of any single-handed weapons and displays kill animations accordingly. For me, this would add a further facet and a depth to the combat system that many considered to be entirely absent from AC's the third outing. And would this really be all that difficult to actually execute, from a game developer standpoint? I've certainly seen it done before (in Skyrim for example, although not with a particular focus on kill-animations). Although, as I'm not actually a game developer myself, I couldn't exactly attest to the potential simplicity or complexity of its inclusion. Regardless, since full dual-wield is something I was expecting in AC III, I'm going to transfer my hope that it eventually appears along to numero IV.
