Assassin's Creed Origins: 10 Things It Needs To Deliver

8. Deathtrap-Filled Pyramids

Screenshots of the game have shown Bayek posing manfully on the slopes of one of Egypt's great pyramids, so there's no doubt they're going to turn up. What isn't certain is whether he's just going to climb them for photo opportunities, or head inside to explore their spooky innards.

The pyramids were combination monuments and burial chambers for Egypt's most bling-obsessed Pharaohs. They're riddled with tombs and secret chambers, and with a dose of historical flexibility, they can be turned into D&D-style dungeons crammed with deathtraps and foes for Bayek to run, jump and homicide his way through.

Given the hints at the supernatural from the released demo footage, there's little to stop the pyramids from teeming with mummified courtiers and assorted horrors defending their entombed masters.

The Big Three pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure are the best-known but the Egyptians loved these things and there are plenty of smaller pyramids dotted around Egypt ready for the plundering.
