Assassin's Creed Origins: 10 Things It Needs To Deliver

9. The Pharos Lighthouse

The Pyramids at Giza were a Wonder of the Ancient World, and they almost definitely almost definitely show up in the game.

There's another one in Egypt, too - the Lighthouse of Pharos, which stood overlooking Alexandria's harbour. It was built by Cleopatra's ancestors to remind everyone who was the new boss after Ptolemy, Alexander the Great's general, took over Egypt and decided he was now the Pharaoh. A version of it still stood in 49BC, and it would seem rude not to let Bayek climb up it.

Pharos was strategically crucial to anyone who wanted to sail into Alexandria so capturing it could be an objective in itself. The lighthouse was almost as tall as the Pyramids, with a giant mirror on top to reflect the sun during the day and a beacon to be lit at night.

This plays perfectly into the game's day/night cycle. If there was ever a building destined to have an assassin swan dive off the top of it, it's the Pharos Lighthouse
