4. Connor / Ratonhnhaké:ton
On the other side of the spectrum we have Connor, who isnt exactly the most favored Assassin- and rightfully so- but the fact that he is a vessel for a story revolving around American independence alleviates that. I wont deny that Connor constantly whined throughout Assassins Creed 3 and was as sympathetic as a rock. Every 5 minutes he was questioning his allegiance to the Assassins, Templars, Americans, etc; examining who helps him the most. The setting alone though is able to mitigate Connors personality shortcomings. As an American its obvious Ive read about major historical events such as the Boston Tea Party, Paul Reveres Midnight Ride, and famous battles in Lexington and Concord; playing those timeless events however- as a freaking assassin to boot- is probably a personal transcendent moment in gaming for me. Connor also became the first assassin to not overly rely on the gimmick of the hidden blade. Sure, its there and readily available for you to use but admit it, his Tomahawk was the real show-stealer. Assassinss Creed 3 was heavily criticized for the majority of its weapons being worthless but honestly, I intentionally stuck with the Tomahawk and loved every second of combat. Those counterattack executions are still sick!
