Yay, hand-to-hand fighting is back - but even within the 10 minute demo interspersed with two or three fist-fights, the same animations played out multiple times. It feels like the one where Jacob 'rakes' his opponents face (perhaps a badly-animated eye-gouge?) is already wearing thin, and that's not to mention the general lack of polish that appears when you're in combat. Come the point where Frye recruits a random assassin for help, the latter's seen firing a gun into the abyss as it fails to connect with Jacob's opponent, all the while the player is trying desperately to land some punches as their opponent flails around hilariously. Thanks to Ubisoft pushing to get this one out the door in such a short time, it's continually resulting in the most integral parts of the games not being laboured over enough to polish over the cracks. At least this time it looks as though sound effects are landing on time with their respective hits, but in terms of making anything look weighty or feel impactful because of it, this is by far just more of the same.
