Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - 8 Signs Ubisoft Learnt Nothing From Unity

6. Shoddy Collision Detection

Speaking of the chase missions, they forever highlight something that's dogged the franchise since the beginning; terrible collision detection between character models and items in the world. In particular just looking at the new footage and the chase sequence within, there are multiple times where the carriage collides with rendered items - from other carriages to people and horses - all with the barest of impact, as the physics model governing what's happening on screen just isn't built to accommodate the gameplay. One of the largest and longest-running complaints about the series has always been the way characters 'rub up' against other things before awkwardly forcing past them like debris caught in a stream and breaking loose, and it's a real shame that this nothing has changed here whatsoever.
