Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Reviews - 12 Shocking Critical Reactions You Need To See

2. Guard A.I. Still Feels Incredibly Undercooked

"Guards are easily lured, en masse, to their deaths by whistling from around a corner, and it's still possible €“ if more difficult than before €“ to lure them to their doom one by one in a haystack. They see you and forget you instantly if you duck around a corner. They all behave the same, really, all look the same literally." - Steven Burns, Videogamer.com
Videogamer's Steven Burns doesn't pull any punches when it comes to laying down the things Syndicate does wrong. Whilst other critics talk about the instant joys of darting across London, swooping down out the night sky to take out all sorts of goons and guard patrols, Burns mentions the actual AI governing their patterns and animations is as stilted and useless as ever. Whether you notice this so much that it gets in the way of your enjoyment is another matter entirely, but by my money, it'd certainly be good to see some Assassin's Creed gameplay where the A.I. posed something of a threat, rather than just taking you down through greater numbers.
