1. Jacob & Evie Aren't As Different As You've Been Led To Believe
"Both twins have the same skill tree [...] By the middle of the game, youll have so many skill points that both siblings will be pretty good at both tactics. Closer to the end, youll finally start unlocking sibling-specific perks, like that Evie can turn practically invisible while motionless, or Jacob can take immense amounts of damage. But in a skill tree of a few dozen nodes, the siblings only have two or three unique ones." - Paul Tassi, Forbes
Coming off the back of Unity, Ubisoft couldn't seem to do anything right. As such, they put their foot right in it by stating that a female protagonist would've required too much effort and assets to create, drawing the ire of seemingly the entire Western world in the process. For Syndicate they touted twin protagonists in a move to please both sides of the gender divide, and while it can be said that Evie and Jacob are both very likeable and fun heroes to embody, their skill-sets run almost parallel with one another, opening up near-enough the exact same amount of options to both at the same time. This means that although you can
choose to spec Jacob as a brawler and Evie as a stealth-specialist because the trailers told you to, there's hardly anything in the way of specific rewards that would encourage you to do so.
