Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Reviews - 12 Shocking Critical Reactions You Need To See
10. The Map & World Is More Interactive
"One moment you're free-running through a borough towards the next story mission, the next you're sneaking through a dilapidated building picking off criminals as you find yourself irresistibly drawn to the promise of experience points and in-game cash--not to mention notoriety among the London underground." - Alexa Ray Correia, Gamespot.com
Anyone who played AC Unity remembers the time they first opened the map, only to be flabbergasted by the absolutely ridiculous amount of interactive icons within. Honestly, you had to zoom in as much as possible and still feather your cursor over a specific one to highlight what you wanted, and it's refreshing to note that in Syndicate, things have been spaced out far more. Gamespot's Alexa Ray notes that there's a solid pull to take you from one place to the next, feeding into a gameplay loop that so far this year, Metal Gear Solid V and Mad Max have both perfected. Go to a place, indulge in some enjoyable gameplay mechanics, get copious amount of rewards that enable you to level up and get to the next place - rinse and repeat. This style of open-world game design is what Ubisoft nailed with Far Cry 4 yet again last year, and providing that glitches and bugs don't impede your progress, for many the very act of playing Assassin's Creed will be enough to get them by.
