Assassin's Creed Unity: 8 Things It Does Better Than The Rest

3. Arno Is A Charismatic Killer

There's a difference between a murderer and an assassin. Well, there are two differences as far as Assassin's Creed is concerned, but there's one if you don't count the ability to free run on basically anything and strike a blade through a man's head from four storeys above. The difference, is about which one you would want to be, given the choice. Thanks in no small part to Ubisoft's series, the idea of being an assassin has been drastically romanticised. While very few people would consider being a murderer was cool if surveyed, players of the Assassin's Creed theory would more than likely consider being an assassin as just that. It helps, then, when the character players are given to dole out barely justified carnage with are interesting and entertaining enough to make the game's players like him enough to overlook the questionable morality. While Assassin's Creed 2 gave players the immensely popular Ezio Auditore, a charming and lovable rogue who just happens to have all of the capability to be a master assassin, no other title had really come close to matching him. With Unity, Ubisoft have pretty much decided to cut their losses and have given players a near-as-dammit copy of the man who carried off no less than three games in the series. Unity's Arno is similarly mischievous at the start of the game, but with enough charm and courage to become a convincing poster boy for the waning creed of Parisian assassins. While Arno is not too heavily accented to avoid too many comparisons with Ezio, many of his characteristics are similar enough that he is the most engaging playable assassin since the star of Firenze.
