Assassin's Creed Unity: 8 Things It Does Better Than The Rest

2. Players Can Dress To Kill

A feature of more and more action-heavy modern games is the amount they borrow from the customisation mechanics of the RPG genre. The result has seen games like Destiny offer an in-depth blend of action-oriented FPS gameplay with inventory and progression systems that borrow directly from classics RPGs. The result is a more rewarding experience for the player, whose growing proficiency at the game is mirrored by the evolution and advancement of their avatar. The Assassin's Creed franchise has never really done more than dip a toe in the mysterious waters of RPG customisation. Players have always had the option to improve their weapons in gear, either through story missions or at relevant intervals where their assassin's abilities would step forward with an even jump each time. In truth the majority of the customisation options in previous Assassin's Creed titles have been for property or possessions, such as developing a homestead in Assassin's Creed 3 or enhancing a pirate vessel in Black Flag. With AC:Unity, there is finally a lot more players can do to feel they have a genuine power over how the skills of their assassin progress. By introducing Creed Points that let players unlock various perks, the destiny of the assassin starts to more readily mirror the efforts of his overseer. Players who rely heavily on the stealth elements will undoubtedly choose to opt for perks that offer quick escapes or more accurate reading of their surroundings while the more gung-ho gamers would just improve the combat options as early as possible so they can dive into the bloodshed with minimal regard for their wellbeing. Even the armour and outfit options are more in-depth with the previous games, making Assassin's Creed: Unity the best customisation experience the series has offered thus far.
