Although Eivor's journey starts with you wielding the classic hand axe and shield combination loved by most Vikings, being able to parry with just about any weapon opens up the possibility of playing around with the various combinations available.

Equipping the Yngling Seax in your off-hand will grant you the ability to quickly dart in and out of battle without having to waste stamina dodging towards and away from the enemy. And since it also increases melee damage after a dodge it pairs incredibly well with the brush with death skill.
