7. Weapon: Housecarl’s Axe
A suitable weapon for anyone who’s pledged their name to a King or Jarl. It can be found deep within the swampy camp of Utbech in Grantebridgescire, northwest of Middletun. The chest will be locked, the key being held by a Brandisher enemy who is very powerful.
Defeating him will net you the key to retrieve this fantastic weapon. Grantebridgescire is a region that you'll visit early on by following the main story, and as such this weapon makes an excellent option over Varin's axe.
This axe increases your attack with each successful hit, stacking ten times and giving you a maximum increase of plus fifteen to attack. As it belongs to the Wolf skill tree it makes an excellent pairing with the Galloglach Armour set, which increases both melee resistance and damage; pairing it with a shield makes for a classic look. Focus your skill points into the Wolf skill tree, primarily grabbing as many Way of the Wolf skills as possible and this axe will be worthy of the name.
