Assassin's Creed Valhalla: 14 Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You
5. Choosing The Right Weapon Combination
In the introductory phase of Valhalla Eivor is taught the basics of using a hand axe and shield to turn the tables on her opponents; and since this combination is both classic and easy to use, very few players choose to deviate from it.
This is such a pity though, as there are so many different weapon types and combinations available in Valhalla which, depending on your build, could be incredibly powerful. So go ahead and test every weapon you pick up. My favorite combination right now is duel wielding a dagger and hand axe, which comes with a charged attack that allows Eivor to leap at her enemies.
And remember, you can parry with next to any weapon. The added bonus of a shield is that it allows you to block attacks though, so my suggestion would be to practice your parrying skills with your shield, as messing up will still block the attack.
When you feel comfortable with your timing, throw that shield away and start duel wielding for some incredible damage and extra abilities. Otherwise you'll just be missing out on half the fun.
