Secret entrances have made a return to the Assassin's Creed franchise in Valhalla and when spotted by Synin will be indicated on the world map by the symbol of a staircase. The first secret entrance you'll likely encounter is in the form of a cave mouth in Norway, which you can simply climb to reach. That being said, as you travel further into Norway and beyond you'll notice that things get a lot more difficult.

More often than not the presence of a secret entrance means you'll have to interact with the environment in some or other way to find it. This can be in the form of shooting some hanging crates to crash through a floor, for example, or exploding a weakened surface by throwing a red vase through it.

I also suggest that you invest in finding the incendiary powder trap bow ability as soon as possible, as this will allow you to destroy these surfaces without having to use anything else. Its book of knowledge can be found nestled away in Grantebridgescire, so go pick it up ASAP.
