Let's just take a moment to truly pay tribute to just how impressive Ubisoft can be when they put their minds to a task, more pertinently regarding its short-film format for video game trailers.

My mind goes back to the epic Assassin's Creed Revelations trailer - the miniature movie which utilised its few minutes to depict Ezio's arduous journey across the land in search of redemption and answers - where they used emotion-driven, pulsating music and stunning visuals to deliver an adrenaline rush of hype and intrigue.

This achieves the same: from the drop in pace and tone to reveal a silhouette of Odin before he was reincarnate as the eagle, to the heart pounding moment of impending death at the hand of the kings men, only for an old favourite to make its return at the final hour. A superb score which builds almost parallel to the ever increasing stakes in the action makes for a wonderful crescendo by the ending scene.

This trailer offers a glimpse into the gorgeous visuals now synonymous with Assassin's Creed. The flickering of light as the sea crashes, the shining of armour and the murky, eerie feeling brought on the by foggy night time air, this game looks as stunning as ever.
