3. Mayan
Already referenced regularly throughout Assassin's Creed's fiction, the Mayan time period has a lot of potential as somewhere to explore. As we're all aware - given that we're still alive - the Mayan's predicted 'end of the world' date in 2012 didn't come about. If you believe Assassin's Creed's story, this is because Desmond sacrificed himself at the end of the third game and stopped the impending doom from a solar flare. But why did the Mayans know this was going to happen? By exploring the memories of an ancestor, we could discover that the Mayan's had access to far greater technology than we thought, helping them to build their ancient temples and predict exactly what was going to happen in the future. Perhaps they even dabbled with First Civ tech, gaining greater abilities than we even have in the modern era. Even if they don't go that route, exploring the culture and structures of the Mayans would be an extremely interesting Assassin's Creed experience.
